Together We Come

(Coachella 08)

on the first weekend of june many underground, progressive and successful band 'come together' for a two day music festival at luna park...the mixture of alcohol, drugs and roller-coasters only appeals to a few people and i must say i am one. The lineup this year is quite patchy and the first day has com out looking the stronger. that saturday includes the ozzie rippers themselves Midnight Juggernauts who are set to bring the inspiration of there European tour back with them. Also headlining are Norwegian pumpers Datarock whos new stuff ('Give It Up') is worth a listen.

Amongst all the others are one of my favourite new bands Art Vs Science who i was blown away by at splendour in the grass....these boys are hitting the festivals now but i can only hope for a album in the near future. I have for you two tracks from these local dudes + a juggernaut classic and an unrelated track that is out and out rockin disco shit..............keep it real hombres!

Hippin & Hoppin

G'day. If You have not already noticed the electro world has been collaborating with hip hop artists and culture for a while now....this has resulted in many rappers releasing some pumping pollished tracks that Mr Sheen himself would be proud of. The first track is a collab from Armin Van Helden and Dizzee Rascal and all tell you know his pomy git accent sounds wicked. You may or may not know that i am going to groove in the moo and seeing that i have been listening alot to the artists playing especially Ratatat whos remix of a Notorious BIG track is too cool.

...Also just because i am feeling quite jovial and john travolta-ish here is a killer disco mix by NAD. This to me is 55 minutes of disco joy tracks 2,3,16 and 19 are standouts but judge it yourselves........peace

and they are pumping! These Brazilian dudes apart from being downright funky also both share the exact same birthday 12th of July, 1980 (which is the cause of the name). The Disco Funk element the bring into their tracks and remixes is too rad to miss out on. You may or may not know that they are playing Groove In The Moo 09 and if you unlike myself missed out on tickets then i suggest you hit up one of the sideshows they will be playing in May around OZ....I leave you with two jivin remixes from our brazilian homies and a quite funny video from another duo DZ.....enjoy

who you gonna call?

Well if you have not had the pleasure yet then listen to The Black Ghosts....the UK duo have taken childhood horror experiences into all there new tracks and they have produced a few rad tunes all there songs are worth a listen but i have here for you two of my favourite tracks plus a remix from Laidback Luke who is set to tour very soon for We Love Sounds!

Empire Of The Remix

Honestly, i cant lie....these guys are ultra fags Tom Steele (from Sleepy Jackson) has transformed Nick Littlemore the once and seemingly long ago cool member of Pnau into a tribal influenced cock! Sorry to those who are fans as i still take my hat (or feather head-peice in their case) off to them on the success and talent they have.....with that comes a few very quality remixes that i hope you enjoy.

kickin off with a bang!

the best way to start would be with the baddest most chillin and rippin group of the oz electro club scene....BANG GANG....the posse' includes Ajax, Jaime Doom, Dangerous Dan, Gus da Hoodrat, DJ Damage and Double Nolan. Whilst establishing themselves in clubs throughout sydney and melbourne they have also released a tasty bunch of remixes that are worth a listen.

Drugs In My Body (Bang Gang Remix) - Theives Like Us

CCTV (Bang Gang vs Van She Tech RMX) - The Lost Valentinos

Kicking & Screaming (Bang Gang's E is for Edit) - The Presets
